The City of Port Moody is pleased to announce the completion of the Gatensbury Road Improvement Project. Gatensbury Road in Port Moody is now safer for all road users, and more accessible and more comfortable to use for pedestrians and cyclists.
The City of Port Moody has purchased 43,560 square feet (one acre) of land at 3016 Murray Street for additional park space. “On behalf of Council, I’m excited to announce the purchase of this land, which will become a part of Rocky Point Park in the future,” said Acting Mayor Meghan Lahti.

On May 7, 2019, Council adopted the 2019-2022 City of Port Moody Council Strategic Plan. The plan provides a framework for the decisions Council will make, and guides the City’s approach for delivering services to the community.
The City of Port Moody and the Golden Spike Days Society are pleased to announce Canadian roots rock reggae band Big Sugar will be the headline performer for Canada Day celebrations at the Golden Spike Days Festival in Rocky Point Park. The show will take place on Sunday, June 30, 2019, as Canada Day (July 1) falls on a Monday this year.
Port Moody’s Mayor and Council unveiled the City’s new rainbow crosswalk, located in the 200-block of Newport Drive, during a special celebration on April 30, 2019. “The rainbow crosswalk is a symbol of pride and acceptance for the LGBTQ2+ community,” said Acting Mayor Meghan Lahti.
Seven community groups will share $17,900 in available funds through the City of Port Moody’s Community Grant Program this year. .
The City of Port Moody is celebrating Earth Day early this year with a variety of free, hands-on activities for all ages at the Inlet Theatre and Civic Centre Galleria (100 Newport Drive) on Sunday, April 14, 2019 between 2 and 5pm. .
