Candidate Profile: Tracey Schaeffer

This city is a unique, special blend of nature and urban convenience… But, for me, it’s the people that make Port Moody home. I love my city and I know that we can work together to build and thrive. I’ve been a part of the community here in Port Moody for almost 10 years. I have volunteered for the city on the Arts and Culture Committee, the IDEA (Inclusivity, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility) Committee and I currently serve on the Land Use Committee. I have also been a part of the Port Moody Art Shuffle planning committee, I’ve volunteered with POMOarts and I also volunteer with Food Link, a food rescue society that seeks to redistribute unsold food from grocery stores, bringing it to people in need. I’m a parent, a writer and a community volunteer. I am also an organizer. In 2022, I created and ran the Frantic Breeze Fast Film Competition. I have been a TV professional for more than 20 years working as a Story Producer, Production Coordinator and on set as an Assistant Director. I’ve also worked as a language teacher in Toronto, Japan, Korea and Vancouver. I love problem solving and my communication and team-building skills have helped me make connections all around the world.
