Barnet Highway - Installation of LED streetlights
Barnet Highway - Culvert repair (sliplining)
When: Until June 30, 2026
Work hours: 7am to 7pm (weather dependent)
Location: Barnet Highway at Reed Point Way
Impact to you: Barnet Highway eastbound will be reduced to one lane. Traffic will merge into the left lane. Between 9am and 7pm, the bike lane on Barnet Highway westbound will be closed. The right-turn slip lane to Reed Point Way will be closed. A cyclist pathway will be delineated. Traffic delays are expected.
Clarke Road - Gas service abandonment
When: May 13-14, 2026
Work hours: 9am to 3pm
Location: 929 Clarke Road
Impact to you: Closure of through and right turn lanes on Clarke Road northbound at Seaview Drive. Motorists to use the remaining left turn lane for through, left, and right movements. Sidewalk to remain open during work.
Forest Hill Place - Paving and utility works
When: Until May 29, 2026
Work hours: 9am to 3pm
Location: 622 Forest Hill Place
Impact to you: Single lane alternating traffic on Ioco Road, Jacobs Road, and Dowding Road. Street parking will be restricted along the east and west side of the Jacobs Road to accommodate the construction area. All sidewalks and crosswalks will remain open. Access to private driveways will be maintained and supported by traffic control personnel. Traffic control persons will be on site to assist motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians.
Hugh Street - Roadway construction including underground utilities
When: Until May 30, 2026
Work hours: 7am to 7pm
Where: 2808 St George Street
Impact to you: Full road closures of Hugh Street between St. Johns Street and St Andrews Street are expected, with St. Johns eastbound traffic merging into the left lane to accommodate the construction area for underground utility work. As the work shifts from the intersection towards the development site, St. Andrews Street will be closed in sections while accommodating driveway accesses for residents. St. George Street will have street parking restrictions to accommodate the construction in front of the development.
St. George Street - Culvert inspection and repair
When: May 11-15, 2026
Where: 2104 St. George Street
Impact to you: Closure of westbound travel lane on St. George Street. Single lane alternating traffic around work area. Parking will be temporarily restricted on St. George Street, east of Albert Street. Sidewalks and crosswalks will remain open.
Williams Street - Sidewalk repair
When: May 11 to 29, 2026
Where: 3010 St. Johns Street
Work hours: 7am to 7pm
Impact to you: The sidewalk on the east side of Williams Street (north of St. Johns Street) will be closed and a pedestrian detour will be in place around the work area.
Park and trail construction
These are park and trail construction projects currently taking place in Port Moody. They may result in temporary closures or limited access to certain areas.
Art Wilkinson Park - 5-12 playground closed for improvements
From May 11 to July 2026, the playground for children ages 5 to 12 at Art Wilkinson Park will be closed for replacement. This play area has reached the end of its lifespan. The tot playground will remain open. New play equipment is coming. Some existing structures will be replaced, and a new disc‑net climber will be added. The new playground will include engineered wood‑fibre and rubberized surfacing.
Hett Creek Trail - bridge closure
The Hett Creek Trail bridge was heavily damaged during the November 2024 windstorm and, following an engineering assessment, the bridge remains closed. Trail users can detour via Wilkes Creek Trail. In addition to providing a pedestrian pathway, this bridge also supports a sewer pipe attached underneath. The City has hired a structural engineering firm experienced in bridge construction and stabilization to design the repairs. The design work is now more than halfway complete.
Construction is now expected to begin in August 2026, when work in the creek area is permitted and conditions are suitable for protecting fish and wildlife. View a map of the detour at portmoody.ca/trails
Inlet Park Community Fieldhouse - January 2026 to early Fall 2027
Construction on the new community fieldhouse is moving forward with completion anticipated for early Fall 2027. Please note the following impacts to the parking lot during construction:
Parking changes: Fencing will be installed around the project area which will block access to the mid‑section parking stalls. Vehicles will be able to enter the parking lot from both the east and west entrances, but travel through the work area will not be possible. Parking stalls will be designated for turnaround spaces. Please note that manoeuvring space will be tight.
EV chargers: Three out of nine EV chargers will remain available while the other six will be out of service. The three chargers will be available for use 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Impact to you: Traffic entering White Pine Beach parking lot entrance will be managed by traffic control persons. Traffic delays are expected. Traffic control persons to assist motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians.

Inlet District - Guildford Dr.

When: March 30 to May 15, 2026, 7am to 7pm
Location: Guildford Drive
Impact to you: Closure of Guildford Drive west of Balmoral Drive (local traffic permitted). There will be instances of single lane alternating traffic at the Balmoral Drive and Guildford Drive. Sidewalk to remain open.
Inlet District - Ioco Rd. - Utilities night work
Developer: Wesgroup Properties
When: Night work Mon–Thu March 11 to 14, 7pm to 3am; Fri May 15, 7pm to 1am
Location: Intersection of Ioco Rd and Guildford Way
Impact to you:
- One lane in each direction maintained; traffic pattern changes in effect
- Northbound lanes on Ioco Road closed at the Guildford Way/Murray Street intersection
- Left turn not permitted:
- Southbound Ioco Road to Guildford Way eastbound
- Northbound Ioco Road to Murray Street westbound
- Guildford Way westbound to Ioco Road southbound
- Intermittent sidewalk closures on the east side of Ioco Road
- Northbound bike lane closed
Detours will be in place and traffic control people are on site assisting motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians. Expect significant traffic delays.

Work: Multi-family Construction - Excavation - Phases 1,2,3
Location: Single lane alternating traffic along Angela Drive between Glenayre Drive and Cecile Drive, and on Glenayre Drive southbound at Angela Drive. Parking will be restricted in the work areas. Driveway access will be maintained. Pedestrian detours in place around work areas, including the construction of a temporary crosswalk on Cecile Drive south of Angela Drive. Traffic control persons will be on site to assist motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians. Expect traffic delays.
The St. Andrews/BOSA Foods (St. Johns St.) - 2334 St. Andrews Street
When: May 11, 2026

Location: 2334 St. Andrews Street
Impact to you: Closure of Queens Street between St. Johns Street and St. Andrews Street. Intermittent traffic stops at St. Andrews Street and Queens Street intersection for truck turnarounds. Access to driveways within closure area will be maintained.
