Suter Brook Village Traffic Improvements
The City of Port Moody is committed to enhancing the well-being of both pedestrians and motorists in Suter Brook Village. After listening to residents’ concerns about traffic and public space issues in Suter Brook Village, City staff prepared the Suter Brook Village Traffic and Public Space Implementation Plan, which was presented to City Council in December 2019.
Building on this plan, the City is working with the developer, Onni, to implement various traffic measures and improvements that address these concerns. Below is a timeline of key actions and developments in the project:

Changes are being implemented in two phases:
Phase 1
Completed
- Brew Street has been changed to one-way traffic to improve flow and safety. A speed has also been added
- three raised crosswalks were added along Capilano Road to improve pedestrian safety by slowing vehicle speeds and improving visibility at crossing locations
Phase 2
Upcoming
Raised crosswalks at Murray Street and Morrissey Road: Two raised crosswalks will be installed to improve pedestrian visibility and safety
Crosswalk enhancements: Crosswalks at Morrissey Road and Brew Street, Morrissey Road and Suter Brook Way, and Brew Street and Suter Brook Way will be upgraded with standard zebra or parallel crosswalk markings
Additional traffic calming measures: Where feasible, speed humps will be installed on Suter Brook Way and Morrissey Road to help reduce vehicle speeds
Capilano Road improvements: A raised crosswalk will be added at Capilano Road and Ioco Road, where feasible, along with speed hump on Capilano near Murray Street
30 km/h speed limit signage: Speed limit signage will be added throughout Suter Brook Village
