Candidate Profile: Tracy Green
Running for: School Trustee
My path to School Trustee comes from hands-on community work. A big part of that work began when our community needed a school. I stood with parents pushing for Eagle Mountain Middle School, but the council of the day would not approve the site. So I ran for Anmore council, got elected and helped get it built, plus 63 childcare spaces. I am running now for the same reason, because our schools need people who will work together to do what is best for students.
My family has been in the Tri-Cities for 23 years, the last ten in Port Moody. My two kids are recent SD43 grads, and I've seen firsthand how board decisions shaped their school years. Kids do well when teachers, support staff and families have what they need. That takes a board that listens and puts resources into the classroom.
In my work in the environmental and learning sectors, I manage large budgets and work with all levels of government. I was a parent volunteer from preschool through graduation, and I have given my time to Mossom Creek Hatchery, SHARE Family & Community Services and many other wonderful projects and organizations.
As trustee, I will support every student, protect programs of choice, prepare kids for a changing world, spend carefully and openly, and plan for Port Moody's growth so all students can access quality learning.
Strong schools make Port Moody a better place for everyone, at every stage of life. I would be grateful for your vote on October 17.
Informed. Committed. Community-Driven.
