We encourage candidates to get familiar with City services, programs, and plans by reviewing all areas of the City website, the Annual Report, the Official Community Plan (OCP), and other strategic plans and strategies available on portmoody.ca/reports. Read below for more information to be aware of as you campaign.

Campaign advertising signage rules
The Election and Political Signs Bylaw No. 3514 regulates the size, type, form, appearance, and location of election and political signs within Port Moody and sets out permitted dates and duration of installation. All candidates and elector organizations are strongly encouraged to review the entirety of this bylaw to ensure they are familiar with new provisions, in particular changes to permissible locations for election signage on public property.
Campaign advertising signage can only be erected starting Saturday, October 3, 2026. Campaign advertising signs erected prior to this time and date and signs that are in violation of the bylaw are subject to removal at the candidates’ expense. Candidates must remove election signage by October 24, 2026.

Permissible sign sizes are specified in sections 4.1(b)(i) and 4.1(b)(ii) of Bylaw No. 3514, with seven permissible public areas listed in Schedule A. Here is a consolidated table for your convenience:

City of Port Moody logo restrictions
The artwork, symbols and typographical content of the City of Port Moody logo and wordmark, and the I Love Port Moody wordmark are trademarked and protected under the copyright laws of Canada. Candidates may not use the City of Port Moody logo or wordmarks on any campaign collateral. This includes portions or segments of the logo.
All-candidates meetings
The City does not host all-candidates meetings or candidate debates. External, community-organized all-candidate events may be submitted to the City’s online Event Calendar. Partisan or candidate campaign events will not be accepted on the calendar. Event organizers are responsible for contacting the candidates directly.
