Candidate Profile: Paul Lambert
Running for: Councillor
Port Moody is a truly special place to live and I was fortunate to grow up here for over 20 years. My wife and I moved back to Port Moody 4 years ago to raise our family, and in total I’ve now lived 26 years in our community. We have 3 wonderful kids and we just welcomed our 3rd this past August. The previous 3 years we lived in the Seaview neighbourhood, between College Park and Glenayre, then last year we moved to Heritage Woods.
My education is in Economics and I work as a Business Consultant working with businesses in Port Moody and throughout the Lower Mainland. I believe deeply in community service and have coached youth sports, volunteered on local environmental issues and served as a Board Member for the Golden Spike Days Society.
The top 3 reasons why I’m running are:
1) Offer a middle ground on development and population growth.
I believe we need to grow enough to address our housing needs and grow our local economy. But I also believe we should not grow so much that our infrastructure is overwhelmed and we risk losing what makes Port Moody so special. To stay unbiased on this issue, I have chosen to not take donations from real estate developers.
2) Significantly upgrade our road infrastructure to finally improve traffic in Port Moody.
3) Put an end to the large increases in property taxes and utility fees Port Moody residents have seen the past 4 years.
It would be an honour if I can earn your vote and serve on Port Moody City Council. Thank you.
