Candidate Profile: Haven Lurbiecki (Port Moody Voice)

Since being elected to Port Moody Council in 2022, I have often been a lone voice at the Council table standing up for residents on issues that matter.

I voted against a plan that would nearly double Port Moody’s population, opposed towers up to 40 storeys in Moody Centre, and called for a referendum to give residents the final say on tower heights. I fought for real family housing and true expansion of Rocky Point Park, pushed for realistic planning for the traffic, infrastructure and costs of growth, and advocated for a stronger local economy to diversify the City’s tax base.

I have consistently championed transparency at City Hall and the right of residents to have a meaningful say in decisions shaping their community. With taxes and City spending rising while infrastructure and amenities struggle to keep pace, I believe Port Moody needs a new direction and leadership that respects what makes our city special.
