Public art helps to make Port Moody aesthetically pleasing and interesting. It builds our community by enhancing quality of life, contributing to economic development, and helps celebrate our rich history. It brings art to life for citizens in many everyday settings. Artist designed street banner

The City of Port Moody is seeking artists from BC, to create artwork suitable for a series of printed street banners. Every two years, artists or designers are commissioned and provided an opportunity to design street banners that will be on display for the year in our community.

Process overview

  1. Call for qualifications: Artists interested in this opportunity should carefully review the guidelines outlined in this call for qualifications. Ensure you understand all requirements, deadlines, and specific criteria related to the application.
  2. Selection jury review: A selection jury will assess the submitted qualifications and shortlist up to three artists or artist teams.
  3. Design presentation: The shortlisted artists or teams will be invited to present their Design Concept Proposal.
  4. Final selection: The jury will select the final artist and design to proceed with the project.

To apply, submit your qualifications and required materials as a single PDF document (10MB) by the deadline. Label your PDF with your name or team name and email it to communityartscoordinator@portmoody.ca with the subject line "Artist Designed Street Banner - (your name.)' All submissions must be received by 11:59pm on Sunday May 17, 2026. Good luck. We look forward to seeing how your ideas come together.
