Volunteering
There are a variety of volunteer opportunities in the City. Becoming a volunteer is an excellent way to gain experience working with the public, it can teach you new skills, and you will make a difference in your community.
Join a committee
Port Moody has a variety of different committees and boards with positions available for the general public. Review all of our committees and get involved in your local government.
Citizen Advisory Group
The Citizen Advisory Group (CAG) is made up of more than 250 Port Moody residents of all ages who volunteer their time to provide input on City issues. Council seeks feedback from the CAG on a variety of topics, from budgets and master plans to new City projects and community development. We are not accepting applications for the CAG at this time.
Volunteer in recreation
We are not accepting applications at the moment, please check back in late March/early April to apply as a volunteer for Summer 2023. If you are interested in volunteering for the Spring 2023 season (April-June) please email mpawson@portmoody.ca directly.
To volunteer in recreation, you will need to:
- fill out an application form
- attend an interview
- once selected, obtain a Port Moody Police Information Check
- attend an orientation session
You can choose to volunteer in one of the following areas in recreation:
- programs for preschool, children, or youth
- programs for adults and seniors
- ice sports and ice skating programs
- city wide special events
