Clarke Street - Material delivery at South Schoolhouse Creek
College Park and Glenayre neighbourhoods - Water main flushing
When: Water main flushing in College Park and Glenayre begins Monday, March 9, 2026.The work is expected to take approximately six weeks to complete.
Impact to you: You may experience temporary water discolouration, pressure fluctuations, and sediment in the water reaching your home or business. If this happens, you can run cold water in a bathtub or another large fixture until the water clears. These conditions are expected to be short-lived and do not pose a health hazard. Guildford Way - Water system upgrade work
Location 2: Guildford Way at Carlsen Place
When: March 9 to April 30, 2026
Work hours: 7:30am to 3:30pm
Impact to you: Closure of eastbound right lane and bike lane on Guildford Way at Carlsen Place/Eagle Ridge Hospital Main Entrance throughout construction. Cyclists to take the lane. After work hours, bike lane will be reopened. South sidewalk closed throughout construction. Pedestrians will be detoured to cross to north sidewalk at Falcon Drive and at Ungless Way. Expect traffic delays.
Ioco Rd. - Paving and utility works
When: Until April 30, 2026
Where: 622 Forest Hill Place
Impact to you: Single lane alternating traffic on Ioco Road, Jacobs Road, and Dowding Road. Street parking will be restricted along the east and west side of the Jacobs Road to accommodate the construction area. All sidewalks and crosswalks will remain open. Access to private driveways will be maintained and supported by traffic control personnel.
Moray Street - Maintenance hole flushing and CCTV inspections
When: March 30 to April 2, 2026
Where: 125 Moray Street
Work hours: 9am to 3pm
Impact to you: Partial closure of the southbound and northbound curb lane (separately) on Moray Street. Vehicles to pass around the work areas. Sidewalks and crosswalks will remain open and unobstructed. Driveway access will be maintained. TCPs will be on site to assist local traffic and pedestrians.
Dewdney Trunk Road - BC Hydro pole repair
When: April 9, 2026
Where: Dewdney Trunk Road northbound, at the St. Johns Street intersection
Work hours: 9am to 3pm
Impact to you: During this work, the eastbound right‑turn lane and the westbound curb lane on Dewdney Trunk Road will be shortened near the intersection. Drivers will have reduced queuing space, which may cause delays. Two‑way traffic will remain open on Dewdney Trunk Road. The east sidewalk on Dewdney Trunk Road near the work area will be closed and a signed pedestrian detour will be in place. Traffic control staff will be on site to assist drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians.
St. Johns Street - Rooftop installation of telecommunications equipment
When: April 11, 2026
Where: 2312 St. Johns Street
Work hours: 5am to 11am
Impact to you: The centre lanes on St. Johns Street will be closed in both directions in front of 2312 St. Johns Street to allow a mobile crane to be set up. Two‑way traffic will remain open on St. Johns Street. Short stops to westbound traffic will occur at times while equipment is lifted overhead. The north sidewalk in front of 2312 St. Johns Street will also close briefly during overhead lifts. During the work, westbound traffic will be detoured at Moody Street via Clarke Street.
Park and trail construction
These are park and trail construction projects currently taking place in Port Moody. They may result in temporary closures or limited access to certain areas.
Hett Creek Trail - bridge closure
The Hett Creek Trail bridge was heavily damaged during the November 2024 windstorm and, following an engineering assessment, the bridge remains closed. Trail users can detour via Wilkes Creek Trail. In addition to providing a pedestrian pathway, this bridge also supports a sewer pipe attached underneath. The City has hired a structural engineering firm experienced in bridge construction and stabilization to design the repairs. The design work is now more than halfway complete.
Construction is now expected to begin in August 2026, when work in the creek area is permitted and conditions are suitable for protecting fish and wildlife. View a map of the detour at portmoody.ca/trails
Inlet Park Community Fieldhouse - January 2026 to Summer 2027
Construction on the new community fieldhouse is moving forward with completion anticipated for summer 2027. Please note the following impacts to the parking lot during construction:
Parking changes: Fencing will be installed around the project area which will block access to the mid‑section parking stalls. Vehicles will be able to enter the parking lot from both the east and west entrances, but travel through the work area will not be possible. Parking stalls will be designated for turnaround spaces. Please note that manoeuvring space will be tight.
EV chargers: Three out of nine EV chargers will remain available while the other six will be out of service. The three chargers will be available for use 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Development
These are development projects led by private developers in Port Moody. They may cause traffic impacts or restricted access at certain times during construction.
Inlet District - Guildford Dr. and Ioco Rd.
Developer: Wesgroup Properties
When: March 30 to May 15, 2026
Impact to you:
Guildford Drive (7am to 7pm): Closure of Guildford Drive west of Balmoral Drive (local traffic permitted). There will be instances of single lane alternating traffic at the Balmoral Drive and Guildford Drive. Sidewalk to remain open.
Ioco Rd (7am and 3pm): The bike lane and right lane on northbound Ioco Road and the east sidewalk will be closed. A temporary bike path will be set up beside the work area. The work will take place in two sections: from Barnet Highway to Suter Brook Way, and from Suter Brook Way to Guildford Way.
During the south section closure, the Inlet Centre Station at Bay 2 bus stop (Stop ID 61988) will be closed. During the north section closure, the northbound Ioco Road at Suter Brook Way bus stop (Stop ID 59903) will be closed. Transit riders will be directed to the nearest open stop.
The crosswalk at Suter Brook Way will remain open, and driveway and business access will stay open. Traffic control staff will help cyclists and pedestrians, and drivers should expect delays.
Flavelle Place - 2808 St. George Street
When: Until April 30, 2026
Developer: Dema Developments
Impact to you: Full road closures of Hugh Street between St. Johns Street and St Andrews Street are expected, with St. Johns eastbound traffic merging into the fast (left) lane to accommodate the construction area (underground utility work). As the work shifts from the intersection towards the development site, St. Andrews Street will be closed in sections while accommodating driveway accesses for residents. St. George Street will have street parking restrictions to accommodate the construction in front of the development. Traffic delays are expected.

Impact to you: Trucks will be accessing site through Golden Spike Lane. Street parking restrictions on Moray Street.

Work: Multi-family Construction - Excavation - Phases 1,2,3
Location: Single lane alternating traffic north of Angela Drive. To minimize delays, it is recommended that motorists use College Park Way for access and student drop-off and pick-up at Seaview Community School. Traffic control personnel will be on-site to manage vehicle flow and minimize disruption, particularly during school drop-off and pick-up hours.
Grayden Developments Ltd. - 1035 Ioco Road
When: March 16 to April 13, 2026

Location: 1035 Ioco Road
Impact to you: Intermittent westbound lane closure and closure of sidewalk fronting property at 1035 Ioco Road. Single lane alternating traffic will be operated around work area during lane closure. A pedestrian pathway will be created around the work area during the sidewalk closure. Parking will be restricted on Barber Lane between 1101 and 1027 Ioco Road. Traffic control persons will be on site to assist motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians.
Spring Street Development - 3006 Spring Street
When: February 9 to April 13, 2026
Developer: PCI Developments Corp.
Location: 3006 Spring Street
Impact to you: Full road closure on Spring Street. Local traffic permitted. Street parking will be restricted along the north and south side of Spring Street to accommodate the construction area. Sidewalk will be closed, and pedestrians will be redirected to an alternative pathway. Access to businesses will be maintained and supported by traffic control personnel. Temporary no parking signs will be instated on St. Johns Street westbound, west of Electronic Avenue.
