Hett Creek Trail - bridge closure
The Hett Creek Trail bridge was heavily damaged during the November 2024 windstorm and, following an engineering assessment, the bridge remains closed. Trail users can detour via Wilkes Creek Trail. In addition to providing a pedestrian pathway, this bridge also supports a sewer pipe attached underneath. The City has hired a structural engineering firm experienced in bridge construction and stabilization to design the repairs. The design work is now more than halfway complete.
Construction is now expected to begin in August 2026, when work in the creek area is permitted and conditions are suitable for protecting fish and wildlife. View a map of the detour at portmoody.ca/trails
Shoreline Trail Boardwalk - Finishing work October 14–23, 2025
The boardwalk will remain open, but users may experience short pauses in access (up to five minutes) as crews move through each section. Please follow directions from on-site staff and use caution around work areas. For more information on this project visit the Shoreline Trail Boardwalk Replacement Project.
