Port Moody Fire Rescue offers practical, hands-on Fire Extinguisher training designed for community groups, local businesses, schools, and non-profits that are located in the City of Port Moody.   Our goal is simple: give your team the confidence to act quickly and safely in the first moments of a small fire. Sessions are engaging, accessible, and tailored to your group’s environment.

What your group will learn

  • Fire basics: How fires start, spread, and are controlled using the fire triangle.
  • Extinguisher types: Understanding ABC, CO2, and specialty extinguishers—and which to use when.
  • P.A.S.S. technique: Pull, Aim, Squeeze, and Sweep—step-by-step best practices for effective use.
  • When not to fight a fire: Situational awareness, safe evacuation, and calling 9-1-1.
  • Hands-on practice: Live, simulated scenarios with instructor coaching to build confidence.

  • Community groups & non-profits: Clubs, faith organizations, neighborhood associations, and event volunteers.
