Notice of Intent: City of Port Moody Road Closure Bylaw No. 3472

City of Port Moody Road Closure Bylaw – Portion of Queens Street, 2024, No. 3472
(Pursuant to Sections 26, 40 and 94 of the Community Charter)

When: Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 7pm
Where: Electronic meeting or by in-person attendance in Council Chambers, City Hall, 100 Newport Dr., Port Moody, B.C. (see portmoody.ca/ph for details and instructions)

Purpose: Pursuant to Section 40 of the Community Charter, the Council of the City of Port Moody intends to consider adoption of the Road Closure Bylaw which will close that portion of Queens Street having an area of 216.9m2, as highlighted by heavy black line on Map 1, Road Closure Survey Reference Plan.

Once the road is closed, the City of Port Moody intends to sell it for the appraised amount of $933,876.00 to Benedet Properties (St. Johns) Ltd. (Inc. No. BC1520707), the owner of the adjacent lands known as 2331-2335 St. Johns Street, for consolidation with their development site. Map 2 illustrates the proposed road closure if approved and the consolidated site boundary.

The proposed closure, cancellation, sale, and consolidation are dependent on adoption of City of Port Moody Official Community Plan Bylaw, 2014, No. 2955, Amendment Bylaw No. 38, 2024, No. 3471 (2331-2335 St. Johns Street and a 5.5-metre-wide portion of Queens Street right-of-way) as well as City of Port Moody Zoning Bylaw, 2018, No. 2937, Amendment Bylaw No. 97, 2024, No. 3470 (2331-2335 St. Johns Street and a 5.5-metre-wide portion of Queens Street right-of-way) (CD97).

THIS NOTICE IS FOR THE PURPOSE OF PUBLIC NOTIFICATION ONLY. IT IS NOT AN OFFER TO DISPOSE OF THE ABOVE PROPERTY TO ANY OTHER PARTY.

Copies of the bylaw can be inspected in person at the second-floor counter in City Hall, Monday to Friday, from February 7, 2025 to February 25, 2025, excluding statutory holidays, from 8:30am to 5pm. Please note that City Hall will be closed on February 17, 2025 (Family Day).
