2026 Port Moody election: Save time on election day – register as a voter in advance with Elections BC

Did you know you can register as a voter in advance of the 2026 Port Moody General Local and School Board Election? Save time on election day – Saturday, October 17, 2026 – and register in advance with Elections BC via their online form. For phone, mail, and email options, visit the Elections BC website. The deadline for advance registration with Elections BC is Tuesday, August 18, 2026. If you miss this deadline, you can still register at time of voting at a voting location.

Why register in advance? 

Registering in advance makes the voting process faster and easier on election day. Registered voters receive important updates from Elections BC after an election is called, including information about where, when, and how to vote. 

Please note the City of Port Moody uses the Provincial Voters List. If you are on the Provincial Voters List for Port Moody, you are already registered to vote in the 2026 Port Moody General Local and School Board Election.

Wondering if you’re eligible to vote? 

You are eligible to vote in Port Moody’s general local election if you are:

1. 18 years of age or older on the day of registration (advance registration OR registration at the time of voting);
2. a Canadian citizen;
3. a resident of British Columbia for six (6) months immediately before the day of registration;
4. a resident of Port Moody;
5. not disqualified by law from voting in an election.
