Getting Around

Getting here is easy! Port Moody is only 35 minutes east of Vancouver, and about an hour north of the US border. There are a variety of convenient public transit options that can help you travel through the Metro Vancouver region.

If you’re travelling via SkyTrain, get off at Moody Centre Station or Inlet Centre Station. Now you’re in the heart of Port Moody and ready to explore! We are committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and fighting climate change. Public transit, walking, cycling, car sharing, and electric vehicles are great ways to go green and help our planet.

Many of Port Moody’s shops, services, and civic facilities, as well as Rocky Point Park and the Shoreline Trail, are within walking distance of a SkyTrain station. View our interactive Parks map to find your way.

From Moody Centre Station, head to Queen Street Plaza (13 min), Rocky Point Park (10 min), Shoreline Trail (16 min), Kyle Centre (13 min), and St. Johns (8 min) or Clarke Street (12 min) shops.

From Inlet Centre, head to St. Johns Street shops (8 min), Suter Brook Village (5 min), Newport Village (10 min), Heritage Mountain Shoppers Village (11 min), City Hall/Inlet Theatre/Port Moody Public Library (10 min), and the Recreation Complex (12 min).

Port Moody has a number of on- and off-road bicycle paths. Map your route and then hop on your bike!

You’ll find a bicycle service station near the parking lot at Rocky Point Park. The “Fixit” has all the tools necessary to perform basic bike repairs and maintenance. Hang your bike from the hanger arms, and the pedals and wheels will spin freely to allow you to make your adjustments.

If you’re new to cycling in Metro Vancouver, HUB Cycling has some great resources.

If you need a car while you’re in town, register with Modo, a local car-sharing service. Port Moody has five pick-up locations: Newport Drive (Newport Village), Capilano Road (Suter Brook Village), Klahanie Drive (two locations), and Spring Street (Moody Centre SkyTrain Station).

If you need to charge your electric vehicle, Port Moody has several public charging stations. The City operates public charging stations with 13 ports in total and BC Hydro operates stations with 9 ports in total. Altogether, there are 22 ports that can accommodate 22 electric vehicles.

You'll find public charging stations at the following locations:
