General Local Election: vote by mail, at advance polls, or on General Voting Day October 15
Choose the way to have your say in the 2022 Port Moody General Local Election: vote by mail, at advance polls (Wednesday, October 5 and Saturday, October 8, 2022), or on General Voting Day (October 15, 2022).
The City of Port Moody is holding a general election to elect one mayor, six councillors, and two school trustees for a four-year term. City councils and school boards make decisions on issues that directly affect you and your family, like utilities and roadwork, parks and recreation, community development, and the policies and budget for the local school district.
Here’s how you can have your say:
Mail ballot
Eligible voters must fill out an online application form or apply in-person at City Hall to receive a mail ballot. Put your completed ballot in the mail or drop it off at the Legislative Services counter at City Hall (100 Newport Drive) – Legislative Services will be open for extended hours from 8am to 8pm, Monday through Friday, until October 15, 2022 (excluding Thanksgiving on October 10). Mail ballots must be received by the Chief Election Officer by 8pm on Saturday, October 15, 2022
Advance voting opportunities
Advance polls will be open on Wednesday, October 5 and Saturday, October 8, 2022 from 8am to 8pm in the Wellness Room at the Port Moody Recreation Complex (300 Ioco Road).
General Voting Day
On Saturday, October 15, 2022, polls will be open from 8am to 8pm at the following locations:
- Port Moody Recreation Complex (300 Ioco Road)
- Kyle Centre (125 Kyle Street)
- Heritage Mountain Community Centre (200 Panorama Place), and
- Glenayre Community Centre (492 Glencoe Drive).

The City of Port Moody uses the Provincial Voters List. If you are on the Provincial Voters List for Port Moody, you are already registered to vote in the Port Moody General Local Election. If you’re not on the Provincial Voters List and you’re eligible to vote, you can register at the polls with two pieces of valid identification.
Not sure if you’re eligible? At the time of voting, a resident elector must:
- be 18 years or older
- be a Canadian Citizen
- be a resident of BC for at least 6 months
- be a resident of Port Moody
- not be disqualified by law to vote
