mail ballot voting

The last day to apply to have the mail ballot package delivered to you by mail is Thursday, October 6, 2022.  After this date, you can only pick up your mail ballot package in-person at City Hall.
Mail ballot voting is now open to all qualified resident and non-resident property electors of Port Moody. Any person who meets the qualifications to vote as either a resident or non-resident property elector in Port Moody can apply to vote by mail.
  • Fill out a Mail Ballot Application Form or pick one up in-person from the Legislative Services counter at City Hall (100 Newport Drive). Please note that valid proof of identification is required when applying for a mail ballot package.
  • Completed applications can be submitted electronically, in-person at the Legislative Services counter at Port Moody City Hall (100 Newport Drive) or mailed to the Elections Office at 100 Newport Drive, Port Moody B.C. V3H 5C3. 

At the time of application, you will be required to select one of the following methods of delivery for your mail ballot package:

  1. Pick up at Port Moody City Hall by applicant (ID required); or
  2. Pick up at Port Moody City Hall by other authorized individual (ID required)

(Delivery of the mail ballot package to you via regular letter mail is no longer available as a delivery option as of October 6, 2022.)

Mail transit times are determined solely by Canada Post.  In addition to mailing your ballot back to City Hall, completed mail ballots can be dropped off at the Legislative Services counter at City Hall. From October 3, 2022 to October 15, 2022 (excluding Thanksgiving Monday on October 10), the Legislative Services Division will be open for extended hours from 8am to 8pm for mail ballot pick-up and drop-off.

All mail ballots must be received by the Chief Election Officer (or designate) at City Hall (100 Newport Drive) by no later than 8pm on Saturday, October 15, 2022, in order to be counted in the 2022 General Local Election.
