St. Johns Street between Elgin and Moody will be closed to vehicle traffic November 11 from 6am-2pm for Remembrance Day ceremony

To facilitate the Port Moody Royal Canadian Legion #119 Remembrance Day parade and ceremony, St. Johns Street between Elgin and Moody streets will be closed to all vehicle traffic on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, from 6am to 2pm. Kyle Street (between St. George Street and Clarke Street) will also be closed to vehicles.

Commuters and residents living in the area will be directed to use Clarke Street as a detour. On-street parking in the neighbourhood will be extremely limited. Transit users will find temporary bus stops on Clarke Street. Expect delays and give yourself extra time to get to your destination. View our traffic management map to learn more.

If you’re in the Moody Centre neighbourhood on November 11, you can expect some noise as the Legion’s Remembrance Day event will include a loud cannon salute at approximately 11am. If you’ll be at home, we encourage you to keep pets indoors. If you plan to attend the event, please consider leaving pets at home.

The Legion’s Remembrance Day parade will start at Moody Elementary School (2717 St. Johns Street) at 10:40am on November 11. From there, the parade will head west on St. Johns Street to the cairn outside PoMoArts (2425 St. Johns Street). The Remembrance Day ceremony will take place at the cairn, starting at approximately 10:55am. Members of the public are encouraged to walk, bike, or take public transit to the event.
