Chief Election Officer declares candidates for 2026 Port Moody General Local and School Board Election
The Chief Election Officer has officially declared the candidates for Port Moody’s General Local and School Board Election, happening on Saturday, October 17, 2026. Find information about the election at portmoody.ca/vote.
The two candidates for the office of mayor are:

The City of Port Moody is holding a general local election to elect one mayor and six councillors for City Council and two school trustees for the School District 43 Board of Education. Elected individuals will serve a four-year term from November 2026 to October 2030. City councils and school boards make decisions on issues that directly affect you and your family, like utilities and roadwork, parks and recreation, community development, and the policies and budget for the local school district.
Eligible voters have three ways to vote:
1. Mail ballot
All qualified Port Moody residents and non-resident property electors have the option to vote by mail. If you would like to vote by mail, you must apply for a mail ballot by 12:00pm on Friday, October 9, 2026.
2. Advance voting opportunities
Vote in advance on Wednesday, October 7 or Saturday, October 10, 2026 in the Wellness Room at the Port Moody Recreation Complex (300 Ioco Road) between 8:00am and 8:00pm.
3. General voting day
General voting day is Saturday, October 17, 2026. Vote at any one of these four locations between 8:00am and 8:00pm: Glenayre Community Centre (492 Glencoe Drive), Heritage Mountain Community Centre (200 Panorama Place), Kyle Centre (125 Kyle Street), or Port Moody Recreation Complex gymnasium (300 Ioco Road).
