19 community groups and individuals awarded funds through Port Moody grant program in 2026

Nineteen community groups and individuals will share $43,000 in funds in 2026 through the City of Port Moody’s Community Grants Program, which has three streams: general community grants; artist grants; and arts, culture, and heritage grants. The program provides financial assistance for projects that contribute to the general interest and benefit of Port Moody residents.
“Council is pleased to award the 2026 grants to a variety of non-profit organizations and artists who are making a positive difference in our community,” said Mayor Meghan Lahti. “We value the dedication and commitment of these volunteers and artists who help community members in need and work to strengthen arts, culture, and heritage in Port Moody.”
Council approved the grant recipients, as recommended by Port Moody’s Citizen Advisory Group, at the Regular Meeting of Council on May 19, 2026 (view City staff’s report to Council, agenda item 6.1). The 19 applicants listed below will receive Community Grants Program funds for 2026:

The Citizen Advisory Group (CAG) is an advisory body made up of more than 250 Port Moody residents who volunteer their time to provide input on City issues. Their recommendations for grant awards are based on a review of eligible applications – general principles that may be used to determine funding allocations are included in the City’s Community Grants Program Policy.
In 2026, the total amount made available for grant awards was $45,000:
- $20,000 for general community grants ($18,000 available for requests made by the January 31 deadline, and a 10 per cent hold-back – $2,000 – available for emergency requests) – applicants were able to request up to $3,000;
- $5,000 for artist grants (no hold-back – if funds remain, they will be available for use later in the year) – applicants were able to request up to $1,000; and
- $20,000 for arts, culture, and heritage grants (no hold-back – if funds remain, they will be available for use later in the year) – applicants were able to request up to $5,000.
General community grants can be used for a wide range of projects. Artist grants provide emerging Port Moody artists with financial assistance to help them grow their skills, experience, and art practice. Arts, culture, and heritage grants provide funding to Port Moody-based organizations that deliver arts, heritage, and/or cultural projects and initiatives in Port Moody.
