- Art at Council – Illustrator, writer, and educator Dave Mutnjakovic shared a pen and ink drawing titled The Organismal and Mental Mysteries. This work questions the inherited imbalances between humans and nature, masculine and feminine, progress and care. Learn more at the Art at Council page.

Delegation: CloseUp International Film Festival – Council heard from the CloseUp International Film Festival. This festival brings world-class films to Port Moody by screening short experimental, documentary, fiction, and animated films from Canada and around the world. They support emerging international, Canadian, Indigenous, and student filmmakers.
- Delegation: Celebrate BC – Council heard from Celebrate BC who shared their desire to include Port Moody in the Celebrate BC Festival Long Weekend. Last year was the inaugural year at Town Centre Park in Coquitlam, and the delegation invited Port Moody to participate this year.
- Election updates – Council adopted the amended Sign Bylaw, Election and Political Signs Bylaw, and the General Local Government Election Bylaw in relation to election updates.
- Works and Services Bylaw Update – Council adopted an update to the City’s Works and Services Bylaw to include servicing requirements for Small-Scale Multi-Unit Housing (SSMUH), raise the renovation exemption threshold, and outline the rationale for Council to consider including single family infill in future Bylaw updates.
- Dog Management Strategy Public Engagement Approach – Council endorsed the public engagement approach for the Dog Management Strategy, with Phase 1 planned to launch in spring 2026 and Phase 2 in early 2027. Once completed, the Dog Management Strategy will provide a clear, citywide framework for managing dogs in parks, trails, and public spaces. It will guide decisions on amenities, enforcement, and education to support responsible dog ownership while ensuring public spaces remain safe, welcoming, and enjoyable for all users.
- Youth Climate Corps – Request for Letter of Support from City of Port Moody – Mayor Lahti was authorized to sign a letter of support for Youth Climate Corps BC (YCCBC) who are seeking to become the delivery organization for the national Youth Climate Corps program. - Inlet Park Fieldhouse Project Update – Council adopted Inlet Park Community Fieldhouse as the new name for the building that will be constructed for Phase 3 of the Inlet Park Redevelopment Project. Mayor Lahti recognized the Rotary Club of Port Moody's financial contribution and heard from members of the rotary who were present. Learn more about the project at portmoody.ca/inletpark.
- Old Firehall Site Temporary Basketball Court – Council received information about the potential for a new temporary basketball court at the Old Firehall Site location. Staff were directed to proceed with construction of a new temporary basketball court at the Old Firehall Site and to report back on progress and upcoming initiatives on neighbourhood park use promotion and enhancement.
- Support for BC Rent Bank – Motion Served by Councillor Amy Lubik and Mayor Meghan Lahti – Council approved a motion to support the City sending a letter to the Minister of Housing and Municipal Affairs, the Minister of Municipal Governments and Rural Communities, and the Minister of Finance advocating for:
- commitment to renewal of multi-year funding for BC Rent Bank before the end of
its agreement in Spring 2026; - funding levels meeting current demand, including a 47% increase in requests for
support.

- Ceasing Use of the Social Media Platform X (Twitter) – Council directed staff to cease the use of social media platform X (Twitter) effective immediately, except in the case of an emergency.
- Staff will inform the public on the alternatives that can be used for City information such as the City's website and Facebook, and find a suitable emergency notification system within the next six months.
- Public notifications will continue to be available through the City’s website and Facebook. Residents can also subscribe to Port Moody news to receive news and/or notices directly by email.
