Highlights
- Art at Council – Councillor Knowles shared some of this year's designs from the StreetArts Banner Program. Thirty colourful banners are displayed on the streets of Port Moody as part of the program. This year’s theme is The Burrard Inlet, a rich and vibrant ecosystem teeming with life both above and below the water. Community members submitted imaginative and playful designs inspired by the creatures—real or mythical—that inhabit these waters. Learn more at the Art at Council page.
-
Delegation: Real Acts of Caring (RAC) Week, Feb 8-14, 2026 – Council heard from Eagle Mountain Middle School students who requested that Council help promote RAC Week. RAC Week encourages people to do something kind and caring for another, without expecting anything back. This year, their theme is Community Connectedness.
- Presentation: BC Hydro Burrard Inlet Thermal Plant Decommissioning and Dismantling Project – Council received a presentation from BC Hydro representatives about the project.
- Kyle Centre Redevelopment Round 1 Public Engagement Summary – Council received a summary of what we heard from Round 1 of public engagement. The summary includes some key themes that emerged through the engagement process around space usage and considerations in the proposed new community centre, plaza, and park space. - 2026 Work Plans – Council approved this year's work plans from the following civic committees.
Port Moody’s civic committees (also known as advisory bodies of Council) advise City Council on a wide variety of important topics and issues. You can access their 2025 annual reports in the Dec. 9, 2025 Council Highlights.
- Amendment to Portwood (Woodland Park) Development Agreement – Council directed staff to amend the Development Agreement for the Woodland Park (Portwood) project. The amendment allows for occupancy of the later phases once the underground portion of Phase 3 is largely complete, rather than waiting until Phase 3 is fully completed and occupied. This change is intended to support project financing and help ensure the continued delivery of housing and community amenities. Learn more about this development at engage.portmoody.ca.
- First Reading of Bylaw No. 3525 – Rezoning (Moody Centre TOD) – Council gave first reading of a rezoning bylaw for one lot to allow for the development of a high-density mixed-use project in the Moody Centre Transit Oriented Development (TOD) area and provided direction on requested changes to be considered prior to second reading.
