Bird activity peaks during nesting season from March 1 to August 31. Bird activity is highest during this time. Remember, nests, eggs, and young birds are protected by law under the BC Wildlife Act and Federal Migratory Birds Convention Act. Nests can be found on the ground, in tree holes, rafters, or shrubs at waist-height, and are delicate and unnoticeable. Avoid removing or pruning trees and shrubs during the nesting season and comply with the City’s Bird Nest Protection Policy. If you see a nest, keep your distance, and don’t disturb it.
