Notice of Intent: Road Closure and Land Disposition

When: Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 7pm

Where: Electronic Meeting or by in-person attendance in Council Chambers, City Hall, 100 Newport Dr. Port Moody, B.C. Visit portmoody.ca/councilmeetings for instructions on how to join the electronic meeting.

Purpose: The City of Port Moody intends to adopt Bylaw 3297 pursuant to Section 40 of the Community Charter, which will close the St. Andrews Street allowance shown dedicated on Plan EPP106548 (PDF), having an area of 0.04 ha as highlighted by heavy blue line on Map 1.

Once the road is closed, pursuant to Sections 26 and 94 of the Community Charter, the City of Port Moody intends to sell this portion of the closed road by transfer to Vansoho + Quad-City GP Corporation, owner of the adjacent lands known as 3101-3103 St. Johns Street, 3104-3112 St. George Street, and 123-129 Buller Street, for consolidation with their development site for the appraised amount of $1,894,000. Map 2 illustrates the proposed road closure if approved and the consolidated site boundary.

Copies of the bylaw(s) can be inspected in person at the second-floor counter in City Hall, Monday to Friday, from November 20, 2023 to November 28, 2023, excluding statutory holidays, from 8:30am to 5pm. You can also contact staff at planning@portmoody.ca or 604.469.4540 with any questions.

How can I provide input?

If you believe your property is affected by this, you may send a submission in writing before 12pm on November 28 by emailing clerks@portmoody.ca or faxing 604.469.4550. Please include “Bylaw 3297” in the subject line. You may comment directly to Council at the Regular meeting to be held at 7pm on November 28, 2023, by joining the electronic meeting as a participant or attending at City Hall in person.
