Notice of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd reading for Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 3506 (SSMUH) - Apr. 8, 2025

In the fall of 2023, the Province passed a series of legislation aimed at enabling increased residential density in BC communities. As part of the Homes for People Action Plan, the Province enacted the Housing Statutes (Residential Development) Amendment Act (Bill 44 - 2023). The Act pertains to Small-Scale Multi-Unit Housing (SSMUH) and necessitated amendments to Port Moody’s Zoning Bylaw to include the SSMUH requirements which were adopted on June 25, 2024. Bylaw No. 3506 includes additional changes to the Zoning Bylaw to comply with requirements in the Act

At the Regular Council meeting on April 8, 2025, City of Port Moody Zoning Bylaw, 2018, No. 2937, Amendment Bylaw No. 108, 2025, No. 3506 (SSMUH) will be presented to Council for consideration of first, second, and third readings. Pursuant to section 464(4) of the Local Government Act, a Public Hearing will not be held.
