Enjoy a festive start to the holiday season! You are invited to the City of Port Moody’s Holiday Cheer at the Pier celebration, happening Saturday, November 29, 2025. This free event for all ages runs from 5pm to 7pm at Rocky Point Pier and Boat Launch in Rocky Point Park (2800 block of Murray Street).

“Holiday Cheer at the Pier is a wonderful opportunity to join friends, family, and neighbours for fun activities as we celebrate the holiday season and reflect on winter themes of giving and gratitude,” says Mayor Meghan Lahti. “Mark your calendar and head to Rocky Point Park on November 29 for music, games, and crafts, as well as a cozy bonfire and a chance to visit with Santa. If you are in a position to help others at this time of year, please consider bringing a non-perishable food item or a new toy for donation. All donations will stay in the Tri-Cities to help local families in need.

“On behalf of Council and the community, I’d like to thank the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority, proudly representing the Port of Vancouver, for being a sponsor of Holiday Cheer at the Pier. We appreciate the port authority’s support of this event and their focus on inspiring community connections. Special events like Holiday Cheer at the Pier bring people together and strengthen our sense of community.”

Join us on November 29 for a little bit of holiday magic! Visit with Santa and take a photo, enjoy a crackling bonfire brought to you by Port Moody Fire Rescue, and be sure to stop by Pop-Up City Hall (blue and white tents with City logo) where we’ll be giving away sweet treats. If you’re hungry for dinner, there will be food trucks on site serving up meals and treats (for purchase).

Additional activities and treats (free or by donation) will include:

  •  warm up with a hot chocolate by donation from the Rotary Club of Port Moody;
  •  enjoy musical performances and roving entertainers;
  • play some fun carnival-style games;
  • write a letter to Santa with help from the POMO Museum;
  • participate in a scavenger hunt and decorate an ornament with the Port Moody Public Library;
  • decorate an ornament with PoMoArts;
  • check out the Blackberry Artist’s Society’s mini winter market; and
  • see Santa’s Christmas Ships, scheduled to arrive in Burrard Inlet around 6pm.

Holiday Cheer at the Pier is an accessible event for people using wheelchairs, strollers, and other mobility devices. Onsite services include a family-friendly sensory tent, run by our Recreation staff, and public washrooms. This is a rain-or-shine outdoor event, so please dress for the weather.

Port Moody Fire Rescue will be collecting new, unwrapped toys as they kick-off their 2025 Toy Drive, and the Port Moody Police Department will be on hand to collect non-perishable food items. Please consider giving what you can. All donations will help local families via SHARE Family and Community Services.

Leashed dogs are welcome, but if the weather is expected to be very cold, please leave your dog at home. Smoking/vaping and drinking alcohol are not permitted.

Please consider leaving your car at home and walking or taking public transit to the celebration. Parking at Rocky Point Park will be extremely limited. Pay parking is in effect at Rocky Point Park parking lots ($1.50/hour until 7pm). Pay stations accept Visa, Visa Debit, Mastercard, Debit Mastercard, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Pay parking is also available at Westcoast Express Park and Ride (65 Williams Street).
