Join us for an information session to learn how sewer upgrades project will affect Shoreline Trail
The City of Port Moody is hosting an online information session on May 19, 2022 for residents interested in learning about the Shoreline Trail Sanitary Sewer Upgrades Project, which involves making improvements to two aging sanitary sewer mains located along a section of the Shoreline Trail that runs from Murray Street to Old Orchard Park.
Construction work for this project is expected to start mid-May 2022 and complete by December 2023, weather permitting. The Shoreline Trail (paved pathway) will be closed to accommodate work zones. Detours will be established, and traffic control personnel will be onsite to assist. There will also be some disruption to traffic on Murray Street, near the trail entrance, including times when westbound traffic may be reduced to a single lane.
This will be a complex and lengthy project, and we understand that residents may have questions. We invite you to a virtual information session with City staff to review the project. This session will provide an opportunity for you to learn more, ask questions, and share your thoughts.

The sewer mains are critical components of our sanitary sewer network and the upgrades will ensure the continuation of reliable operation of our sanitary sewer system for area residents. In addition to the sanitary sewer work, improvements are planned for the existing Shoreline Trail paved pathway (between Murray Street and Old Orchard Park), including paving, improving drainage, widening the path in a few areas, adding environmental enhancements, and installing new benches and wayfinding signage.
In August 2020, the City conducted public engagement on these trail improvements. To view the Council report, including engagement summary, please visit portmoody.ca/shorelinetrail.
