Home for the holidays! Online festivities feature local musicians, a special story time, and more
Holiday celebrations will be a bit different this year and we’ll all be staying close to home. The City of Port Moody invites you to share a little holiday spirit in our local community and enjoy a variety of online festivities, including performances by local musicians, a special story time presented by the Port Moody Public Library, a Santa sing along, holiday crafts, and more.

Bring holiday cheer to local families
The spirit of the season is all about giving, and even though we can’t come together we can still bring some holiday cheer to local families in need. We invite you to help others in your community by dropping off a new, unwrapped toy or non-perishable food item at City Hall (100 Newport Drive) or the Recreation Complex (300 Ioco Road). We’ll be accepting donations seven days a week between the hours of 8am and 4pm, until December 21, 2020. Marked collection bins will be located outside each building’s main entrance. All food and toys collected will go to SHARE Family and Community Services.
Starlit Train community art project
Watch for the unveiling of our community art project, Starlit Train, that was created using contributions from members of the public. We asked you to send us trains and stars – find out how Resident Artist Sara Graham combined them to create a special Starlit Train installation.
Musical performances
Enjoy classic Christmas carols featuring Tom MacDonald, Elizabeth Irving, and Emily Black, as well as a special performance by the Port Moody Secondary School senior string orchestra.
Library story time
The Port Moody Public Library invites you to join Fiona, Sadie, and Pigeon for a seasonal, online story time.
Celebrate with Santa
Sing along with teach Traci, listen to a story from Mrs. Claus, and make a craft with a silly elf.
Family-friendly activities and decorations
Ready to get crafty? Print out some family-friendly activities and decorations, such as holiday memory books, wreaths, colouring sheets, and fun mazes and word searches.
