Help us update Port Moody’s Master Transportation Plan to meet climate goals faster

The City is updating TransPort Moody, our Master Transportation Plan (MTP), in response to new climate targets set in our Climate Action Plan (CAP) as well as new provincial mitigation targets. What “big moves” can we make as a community to better adapt our transportation system to climate change and lessen future climate impacts? We invite you to share your thoughts and ideas to help us plan the actions we will take together!

Engage Port Moody, our public engagement hub, is your source for information and the place where you can get involved. Visit the TransPort Moody: Climate Action Update project page at engage.portmoody.ca/mtp to:

  • learn more about the project and ask questions;
  • register for our “Big Moves” webinar – join us for this online information session on April 7, 2022 from 5pm to 7pm and learn more about the Climate Action Update;
  • take our community survey; and
  • share your big idea – we’re looking for bold and ambitious ideas that could help us meet our climate goals faster.

Port Moody’s current MTP sets a vision and broad strategies to reach our transportation goals. Given the new climate targets developed in our Climate Action Plan and new provincial mitigation targets, we will need bigger and bolder actions to reach these goals faster.

This MTP update will address the gap between where we are and where we want to be, as well as explore how “big moves” can produce additional community benefits, such as less noise, more green space, and healthier lifestyles.

An important part of this process is hearing from people with diverse perspectives about their experiences living in Port Moody. Your participation is important for us to better understand:

  • how policies and strategies proposed in the MTP update may impact people; and
  • how ready the community is for individual and collective changes to how we move around the city.

We value your input! Be sure to take our community survey by April 22, 2022. Paper copies of the survey are available at City Hall (100 Newport Drive). If you have any questions about this project, please email engineering@portmoody.ca
