Council presents 2020 Spike Business Awards to winners via in-person visits

This week members of Council presented the 2020 Spike Business Awards during in-person visits to each winner’s place of business.

The Spike Business Awards celebrate the contribution of small businesses to the local community. The awards are typically presented at a City Hall gala during BDC Small Business Week but this year each award was handed out separately at the winner’s place of business due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Big congratulations to the winners of the 2020 Spike Business Awards, and to all those nominated,” says Mayor Rob Vagramov. “Our Economic Development Committee was once again faced with tough choices, with deserving business owners who have continued to deliver goods and services, keep people employed, and innovate - all in the face of challenging times.”
