2025-2026 holiday service schedule

Hours for City facilities and services, except for essential services, will vary between December 24, 2025 and January 2, 2026. Please see below for a summary of adjusted service hours, plus a table showing the full holiday service schedule, for City Hall, Port Moody Public Library, Public Works Yard, waste collection, Recreation Complex, and Kyle Centre. Port Moody Fire Rescue and Port Moody Police will continue to provide essential services throughout this period.

Summary of adjusted service hours and waste collection schedule

Service hours December 24, 2025

• City Hall and the Public Works Yard will close at noon (solid waste collection will continue uninterrupted)
• Kyle Centre will close at 1pm
• Port Moody Public Library will close at 3pm
• Port Moody Recreation Complex will close at 4pm

Service hours December 25, 2025 through January 2, 2026

• City Hall and Kyle Centre will be closed
• check the table below for hours for other facilities, including the Recreation Complex, Works Yard, and Library
• regular schedules for civic facilities will resume on Monday, January 5, 2026

Waste collection schedule December 24, 2025 to January 2, 2026

• Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2025: regular schedule
• Thursday, Dec. 25, 2025 (Christmas Day): no waste collection
• Friday, Dec. 26, 2025 (Boxing Day): Thursday zone collected (adjusted schedule)
• Monday, Dec. 29, 2025: regular schedule
• Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2025: regular schedule
• Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025: regular schedule
• Jan. 1, 2026 (New Year’s Day): no waste collection
• Friday, Jan. 2, 2026: Thursday zone collected (adjusted schedule)
• Monday, Jan. 5, 2026: regular collection schedule resumes

Please note that City of Port Moody employees use earned leave or leave without pay during reduced hours over the holidays.

In case of an emergency or urgent inquiry

If you experience or witness an emergency and need ambulance, police, or fire rescue services, call 9-1-1. Non-emergency front office support at Port Moody Fire-Rescue follows the same holiday service schedule as City Hall. 

In case of a public works, parks, or environmental issue (e.g. snow and ice, water leak, flood, contaminated stream), report the problem online at portmoody.ca/reportaproblem or call our service line at 604.469.4574 (monitored 24 hours for emergencies). If you have a question about waste collection, please call 604.469.4574. We encourage you to contact us via these methods rather than through our social media channels, as this helps us direct your message to the right place for a timely response. Please note we do not monitor social media after regular business hours or on weekends or holidays.

Make utility payments online or drop a cheque in our secure “Finance” drop box located near the back entrance to City Hall (100 Newport Drive).
