Port Moody businesses: Connect with the community as a Car-Free Day vendor on August 16 – apply today

Car-Free Day is happening on Sunday, August 16, 2026! Port Moody businesses are invited to apply to be a vendor at this vibrant community celebration filled with live music, delicious food, and activities for all ages. Car-Free Day will take place on St. Johns Street, between Queens and Moody streets, on August 16 from 12 noon to 5pm.

“If you own or operate a business in Port Moody, I encourage you to apply today to be a Car-Free Day vendor on August 16 – it’s a fantastic way to connect with the community,” says Mayor Meghan Lahti. “This much-loved annual event drew more than 18,000 people last year from Port Moody, the Tri-Cities area, and beyond. Apply today to join the celebration and showcase your business to attendees at this community-focused event.” 

The application deadline is Tuesday, June 16, 2026. Vendors must be based in Port Moody and hold a valid 2026 business licence issued by the City of Port Moody. The fee for a 10-foot by 10-foot vendor space is $55 plus tax. The space includes one table and two chairs. Additional fees will apply if you request add-ons such as electricity, a tent, or an extra table. Car-free days take place across the country and aim to inspire people to get out of their cars, interact with each other, and explore alternative modes of transportation. The City of Port Moody would like to thank our 2026 Car-Free Day partner, TransLink.

Please note that on August 16, 2026, St. Johns Street, between Douglas and Moody streets, will be closed to all vehicle traffic from 6am to 10pm. Commuters and residents living in the area will be directed to use alternative routes such as Clarke Street.
