Nominate your favourite Port Moody businesses for a 2026 Spike Business Award

The City of Port Moody is accepting nominations for the 2026 Spike Business Awards. Help us recognize the valuable contributions of our business community – tell us about your favourite Port Moody businesses by July 12, 2026.

“The Spike Business Awards give us a chance to celebrate Port Moody businesses for their creativity, innovation, commitment to the community, and customer service excellence,” says Mayor Meghan Lahti. “Tell us about the businesses that go above and beyond for their customers and the community. Your nominations will help us acknowledge the local entrepreneurs who contribute to making Port Moody a vibrant and welcoming place to live, work, and shop.”

Nominations are accepted from the public for awards in five categories, and from businesses (self-nomination) for awards in two categories.

Nominations from the public – one award winner will be selected in each of the following five categories:

• City of the Arts Business – celebrates a business or organization that contributes to the City of the Arts brand, supports cross-cultural and cross-sectoral partnerships, and enhances the creative economy;
• Business Impact – recognizes a business that has had sustained business success, and also demonstrated social responsibility through environmental leadership, inclusive labour practices, and/or charitable giving and community involvement;
• Puts Port Moody on the Map – celebrates a business that puts Port Moody on the map by increasing the profile of the city regionally, provincially, nationally, or internationally and contributes to the cultural, artistic, and social capital of the city;
• Community Builder – recognizes a member of the Port Moody business community or a businessperson residing in the city who has demonstrated outstanding commitment to the community through spearheading and supporting initiatives, mentorship, and/or inspirational leadership; and
• New Business – celebrates a business, in operation for two to five years, that has enjoyed business success, has a clear vision for the future, and demonstrates excellence in management, service, and integrity.

Which businesses would you like to see recognized for their commitment to excellence and community? Fill out a nomination form online or pick up a paper copy at City Hall (100 Newport Drive). 

Nominations from businesses (self-nomination) – one award winner will be selected in each of the following two categories:

• Business of the Year – tell us about how your business has reached beyond Port Moody and shown excellence in product or service innovation, revenue growth, customer service, and/or employee engagement; and
• Lifetime Achievement – tell us about how your business has contributed to the community over a period of 20 years or more in Port Moody.

If you are a business owner/operator or employee, don’t hesitate to self-nominate! We want to hear directly from our local business community. This is an opportunity to showcase all of your phenomenal work. Fill out a self-nomination form (Business of the Year or Lifetime Achievement Award) online or pick up a paper copy at City Hall.

All submissions must be received by July 12, 2026.

The Spike Business Awards celebrate the contribution of small businesses to the local community. Businesses must have a valid Port Moody business licence to be eligible to win.

Winners are selected by the City's Economic Development and Tourism Committee. Award winners will be recognized at a gala event on November 26, 2026 in advance of B.C. Buy Local Week.
