Lawn Sprinkler Permits
Temporary exemption from watering restrictions
New lawns and nematode applications are eligible for a temporary exemption from watering restrictions.
You are permitted to purchase a full priced permit ($43) that allows you to water for three weeks for new lawns, this may then be extended for an additional 3 weeks at a reduced rate. An extension permit must be applied for on or before the expiry date of the first permit. If you want to water for longer than the six weeks you will need to apply for another full priced permit.
You are permitted to have one free permit for three weeks for nematode application. If you require more time for nematode application watering you will need to purchase a regular new lawn sprinkler permit. To do so, you can:
- obtain your Sprinkler Permit online; or
- visit City Hall at 100 Newport Drive to complete the permit process in person.
