To prevent the spread of COVID-19, access to the Recreation Complex is temporarily limited to patrons who have registered for classes or programs.

The City is offering a variety of registered fitness programs this fall, programs run once a week. The next set begins November 2.

Registered weight room sessions

Register for a 60-minute session using our online booking system. Registration will open on Fridays at 8am for sessions in the following week (Monday to Sunday). Drop-in service is not available. 

The price per session will be $5.60 for non-members. If you’re a member, you’ll be able to use your fitness pass. 

Before/during your session:

  • come prepared – bring a full water bottle and wear your workout clothes, as there will be no access to change rooms, lockers, or cubbyholes (you’ll keep any personal items with you throughout your workout);
  • please arrive 5 to 10 minutes before your session – no late entry will be permitted;
  • enter through the doors on the west side of the Recreation Complex near the weight room (across from the Trasolini small practice field);
  • we’ll provide you with a spray bottle and paper towel to clean machines and equipment before and after each use; and
  • spotting, working out in groups, and sharing equipment will not be permitted. 

Please note:

  • there will be a maximum of 15 patrons in the room per one-hour session;
  • there will be a 30-minute gap between each session to support physical distancing requirements;
  • some machines will be unavailable to allow for physical distancing; and
  • the weight room will be closed for one hour each day to allow for a mid-day deep clean.

Registered Drop-in Group Fitness and Yoga Classes 

  • Participants must register for each class individually through our online booking system.
  • Registration will take place 24 hours prior to each class.
  • Be on time – latecomers will not be permitted
  • Limit the amount of personal items you bring into the facility
  • Please bring your own mat
  • Yoga equipment i.e. blocks, bolsters will not be available. You are welcome to bring your own blocks which must be kept within your space.
  • Only registered clients and staff are permitted inside the facility
  • Please hand sanitize upon entry
  • Personal items may be placed on the floor within your designated location, ensuring a safe space during your activity and movement
  • We ask that you please bring a full water bottle and be ready for class as there is no access to change rooms, showers or lockers
  • Please leave promptly

  • Classes will take place in the Curling Rink.  
  • Participants must register for each class individually through our online booking system.
  • Registration will take place 24 hours prior to each class.  
  • All classes are 45 minutes in length.
  • Staff will meet you outside the main Recreation Complex entrance front doors, please line up on 2-metre distance markers
  • We ask that you please bring a towel, a full water bottle, and be ready to spin as there is no access to change rooms, showers or lockers
  • Limit the amount of personal items you bring into the facility
  • Only registered clients and staff are permitted inside the facility
  • Be on time – latecomers will not be permitted
  • Please hand sanitize upon entry into the facility
  • Follow directional signage to the curling rink location and proceed directly to a bike for the duration of your class
  • Prior to your workout - clean your bike using spray bottle and paper towel provided
  • Personal items may be placed on the floor in front of your bike only
  • After your workout - you are responsible for cleaning your bike and surrounding area using spray bottle and paper towel provided
  • Please leave promptly after class (and cleaning your bike) following directional signage to exits

Registered Drop-in Sports (badminton, basketball, & pickleball)

Book an indoor court for badminton, basketball, or pickleball using our online booking system, or call
(604)469-4556 during office hours. You must book 24 hours in advance of your desired court time.

Please note:

  • the cost will be $20 per court for a 45-minute block of time;
  • there will be 30-minute breaks between bookings to support cleaning and physical distancing requirements;
  • badminton and pickleball players can register in groups of four – there will be no rotation with other groups; and
  • for basketball, up to four people can practice skills and shooting, but there will be no game play.

Be sure to:

  • arrive 5 to 10 minutes before your start time – no late entry will be permitted;
  • enter through the Rec Complex main entrance at the front of the building, and exit through the gym doors; and
  • come prepared – bring a full water bottle and wear workout clothes, as there will be no access to change rooms, lockers, or cubbyholes (you’ll keep any personal items with you).

Registered Indoor Walking Track

The Walking Track will re-open by registration only as of October 13, 2020. You will be able to book a 45-minute block of time using our online booking system, or call (604)469-4556 during office hours. You must book 24 hours in advance of your desired track time.

Please note:

  • the cost will be $2.40 per person for a 45-minute block of time
  • sessions are for adults 60+ between 8am-4pm
  • masks are mandatory while on the track
  • there will be a maximum of 6 walkers on the track per session
  • only registered walkers are permitted on the track
  • the track is wheelchair accessible  
  • there will be 45-minute breaks between bookings to support cleaning and physical distancing requirements

Be sure to:

  • arrive 5 to 10 minutes before your start time – no late entry will be permitted
  • enter through the Rec Complex main entrance at the front of the building, and exit through the same doors

Physical distancing measures will be in place. Please do your part to help prevent the spread of COVID-19:

  • Stay two metres (six feet) apart from others whenever possible;
  • Wear a face mask in case there are times when it’s not possible to maintain a two-metre distance;
  • Follow instructions on all signs;
  • Cough or sneeze into your upper arm or elbow;
  • Wash or sanitize hands frequently; and
  • Stay home if you are sick.
