Late Entry & No-Show Procedures

Due to COVID-19 protocols such as physical distancing, spots in our fitness classes and weight room sessions are limited and, as a result, demand for these programs is high. New late arrival and no-show procedures are being implemented to promote equal access to recreation fitness opportunities by discouraging individuals who have reserved a spot from arriving late or failing to notify us if they are unable to attend.

Starting February 1, 2021, all customers will be required to cancel their fitness class or weight room session at least one hour (60 minutes) before the class or session is scheduled to begin.  You can cancel your spot by calling 604-469-4556 or by emailing recreation@portmoody.ca. Please ensure you tell us your full name and the name of the specific class or weight room session, as well as the date and time of your booking. Please read the full details of our late arrival and no-show procedures below.

NEW LATE ARRIVAL PROCEDURES

  • Please arrive 5 to 10 minutes before your start time.
  • Fitness classes: If you arrive more than five minutes late for your fitness class, you will not be permitted inside.
  • Weight room sessions: If you arrive more than 15 minutes late for your weight room session, your spot may be given to someone else.
  • Refunds will not be issued for late arrivals.

NEW NO-SHOW PROCEDURES
If you are registered for a fitness class or weight room session and you don’t show up, or you don’t cancel your spot at least one hour (60 minutes) before the start time, a no-show strike will be noted on your account.  Once you receive three no-show strikes, you will be unable to use your fitness pass for one week.  Please note the following procedure:

  • If you don’t show up or you don’t cancel your spot at least one hour (60 minutes) before the start time, we will contact you by phone and record a strike on your account.
  • If, for a second time, you don’t show up or you don’t cancel your spot at least one hour (60 minutes) before the start time, we will contact you by email and record the second strike on your account.
  • If, for a third time, you don’t show up or you don’t cancel your spot at least one hour (60 minutes) before the start time, we will contact you by email, record the third strike on your account, and freeze your membership for one week.
  • During the week that your membership is frozen, you may register for a weight room session or fitness class by paying the full drop-in price.

We thank you for your understanding and co-operation. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at 604-469-4556 or email recreation@portmoody.ca
