We all benefit from connecting with others in our community, year-round and especially in the winter months. Stay connected this winter by joining your friends and neighbours at one or more of the following events and activities happening in Port Moody in December or January:

The Port Moody Public Library offers a variety of events and activities for all ages, such as ornament making, colouring or painting, crafts, Holiday Dungeons & Dragons, Noon Year’s Eve, and more. Visit portmoodylibrary.ca to learn more.
Port Moody Winter Farmers Market
Where: Recreation Complex parking lot (300 Ioco Road)
When: every Sunday through April 28, 2025
Visit the Port Moody Winter Farmers Market for local produce, artisan crafts, and delicious baked goods.
Wildlife-Friendly Holiday Decorating
Where: Pioneer Memorial Park (275 Knowle Street)
When: until February 14, 2025
Hang your homemade wildlife-friendly decorations in a designated decorating space set up in Pioneer Memorial Park. Find tips for making eco-friendly décor at portmoody.ca/parks. Decorations can be enjoyed by the community through Friday, February 14, 2025 – please be sure to collect your contributions by that date.
CPKC Holiday Train Celebration
Where: Recreation Complex (300 Ioco Road) and Civic Centre (100 Newport Drive)
When: December 20, 2024 (5:20pm-7:30pm)
Join us as the City of Port Moody celebrates the arrives of the CPKC Holiday Train with festive family fun, both indoors and outdoors. The train will arrive decked out in holiday lights at 5:20pm, with live performances at 5:45pm. We’ll have a bonfire and holiday music, cookie decorating and crafts, a holiday film at Inlet Theatre, and more. Blackberry Winter Market
Where: Port Moody Arts Centre (2425 St. Johns Street)

Christmas and New Year’s Eve Skates
Where: Recreation Complex (300 Ioco Road)
When: December 24 (11:30am-1pm and 1:30pm-3pm) and December 31, 2024 (1:30-3pm)
Celebrate the season at one of the City’s holiday skates! Regular admission rates apply. Children seven years and younger must be with a parent or adult supervisor, and children in strollers must be a minimum of 12 months of age and wear a helmet on the ice. Kids aged 10 and under must wear a CSA-approved hockey, ski, or snowboard helmet. Visit portmoody.ca/publicskating for details.
Penguin Plunge
Where: Rocky Point Park Pier and Boat Launch (2790 Esplanade Avenue)
When: January 1, 2025 (1pm)
Ring in the new year with a plunge into Burrard Inlet! The Pleasantside Community Association hosts this fundraiser at Rocky Point Park Pier.
Centralized Recycling Day
Where: Recreation Complex parking lot (300 Ioco Road)
When: January 4, 2025 (10am-3pm)
Recycle your wrapping at the City of Port Moody’s Centralized Recycling Day! You can drop off paper gift wrap and boxes, Styrofoam and packaging, and plastic film. Please note that Styrofoam and plastic film must be bagged separately. We do not accept ribbons, bows, foil gift wrap, regular household garbage, and glass.
Port Moody Firefighters Local 2399 Tree Chip
Where: Inlet Centre Fire Hall (150 Newport Drive)
When: January 4 and 5, 2025 (10am-4pm)
Port Moody Firefighters Local 2399 will be chipping trees by donation at this drive-through event. Help our firefighters raise money for the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund. Before you drop off your tree, please make sure all decorations are removed. Can’t make it? Email burnfund2399@gmail.com to inquire about their tree pick-up service.
