Statement from the Mayor's Office on the Passing of Bob Favelle

The City of Port Moody is saddened to learn of the passing of Bob Favelle. On behalf of Port Moody, Mayor Meghan Lahti extends our deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and the many people to whom he was a mentor, coach, and leader.

During his time as executive director of Port Moody Soccer Club, director of BC Soccer, and in many other roles over the years, Mr. Favelle fostered inclusion, growth, and excellence. He was widely recognized for his exemplary service and contributions to soccer.

Earlier this year, Mr. Favelle was celebrated for his achievements and his deep commitment to soccer with the renaming of Inlet Field to Bob Favelle Field. We were honoured to recognize his legacy and his impact on the sport and the community.

Flags have been lowered at City facilities to honour Mr. Favelle and his profound dedication to the community.
