Statement from the Mayor’s Office: Port Moody to host Invitational Youth Summit in spring 2024

Port Moody Mayor and Council will invite youth to come together to share their thoughts, ideas, and visions on issues that matter to them at an Invitational Youth Summit to be held at City Hall and the Inlet Theatre in spring 2024.

“I’m continually inspired by the remarkable young people in our community and want to provide them with an opportunity to express their opinions, collaborate with their peers, and have impactful conversations that can influence new policy directions for our Council,” said Mayor Meghan Lahti. “The decisions we make today shape the future our youth inherit, and this summit is one way we can empower youth to make a difference in our community. I look forward to learning from and amplifying their valued voices.”

Staff will now move forward with developing a project charter and report back for Council approval on funding. In early 2024, we will share more details with the community on a date, theme, and schedule of events for the summit.
