Port Moody invites public to slide into summer at Canada Day celebration in Rocky Point Park
The City of Port Moody invites residents and visitors to a Canada Day celebration featuring free entertainment and activities for all ages, including live music, a community art project, and a giant inflatable slide. The fun starts at 11am on Sunday, July 1, 2018, at the Golden Spike Days Festival in Rocky Point Park (2800-block Murray Street).
POP-UP CITY HALL
11am-6pm, along the foreshore trail, north side of Rocky Point Park

GIANT INFLATABLE SLIDE
11am-6pm, next to Pop-Up City Hall
Slide into summer on Canada Day! We’ll have a giant inflatable slide set up for the young and the young-at-heart.
COMMUNITY COLLAGE ART PROJECT
11am-6pm, next to Pop-Up City Hall
Get creative at our rip and colour table. Rip off a piece of paper, and use your imagination to draw and colour. Your finished piece will be added to a work of art depicting a popular spot along the Shoreline Trail.
CANADA DAY CEREMONY
1pm, PCT Performance Stage
Port Moody’s Mayor and Council will host a patriotic ceremony to celebrate our nation’s birthday. Jada McKenzie-Moore, 2017 winner of Tri-Cities Got Talent, will entertain you with a couple of songs and then lead everyone in singing “O Canada.”
CUPCAKES AND JUICE
1:30pm, across from the PCT Performance Stage
Join Port Moody’s Mayor and Council for free cupcakes and juice following the ceremony.
BARNEY BENTALL AND THE LEGENDARY HEARTS
9:15pm, PCT Performance Stage
The City of Port Moody presents Barney Bentall and the Legendary Hearts as the headline performer at the Golden Spike Days Festival. With more than 250,000 records sold and 20 top 30 singles, including “Something to Live For,” “Doin’ Fine,” and “Crime Against Love,” Barney Bentall and the Legendary Hearts are sure to put on a great show in celebration of Canada’s 151st birthday.
Parking at Rocky Point Park will be extremely limited. Members of the public are encouraged to leave their car at home, and walk, bike, or take public transit instead. The Shoreline Shuttle, the City’s free summer-time shuttle bus service, connects Inlet Centre, Rocky Point Park, and Moody Centre. On Canada Day, the Shoreline Shuttle will run from 11:30am to midnight.
