Port Moody Council shares vision and priorities for next four years in 2023-2026 Strategic Plan
During the March 28, 2023 Regular Council Meeting, Council shared their vision and priorities for the next four years by introducing a new Strategic Plan. The 2023-2026 City of Port Moody Council Strategic Plan provides a framework for setting priorities and making decisions. It will guide Council and City staff over the next four years as they develop policies and deliver services to the community.
“Our vision for Port Moody is a place where we embrace nature and the arts – the most liveable city in the world,” said Mayor Meghan Lahti. “And our mission is to lead bold initiatives and provide our community with exceptional services and a sound financial future. As an inclusive, forward-thinking, and fiscally responsible government, Council sees the Strategic Plan as our pledge to service excellence, and to building a community that people can be proud of.”
To achieve the vision and mission, Council and staff will focus on four strategic priority areas, each with accompanying strategic goals:
- sustainable core services (strategic goals: prioritize core services, ensure financial sustainability, lead with good governance);
- healthy community development (strategic goals: create complete and connected communities through balanced growth; provide safe, efficient, and accessible transportation options; enhance community well-being);
- resilient natural environment (strategic goals: protect, integrate, and enhance our natural assets; advance climate change mitigation and adaptation; enhance and expand parkland and open spaces); and
- vibrant and prosperous community (strategic goals: improve the local business climate; enhance vibrancy through placemaking, arts, culture, and tourism; leverage public spaces).

The complete Council Strategic Plan, including specific objectives for each strategic goal, is available on the City’s website at portmoody.ca/stratplan.
