Port Moody businesses are invited to apply now to be a vendor at Car-Free Day on August 17
Car-Free Day is happening on Sunday, August 17, 2025! Port Moody businesses are invited to apply to be a vendor at this vibrant community celebration filled with live music, delicious food, and activities for all ages. Car-Free Day will take place on St. Johns Street, between Queens and Moody streets, on August 17, 2025 from 12 noon to 5pm.
“Car-Free Day is a wonderful opportunity for Port Moody businesses to connect directly with members of our community,” says Mayor Meghan Lahti. “More than 12,000 people – Tri-Cities residents as well as visitors from around Metro Vancouver – enjoyed Car-Free Day last year. It’s a much-loved event that you don’t want to miss. Port Moody’s businesses are a vital part of what make this city such an amazing place. We encourage you to showcase your business by hosting a booth at this popular celebration.”
The application deadline is Thursday, June 26, 2025. Vendors must be based in Port Moody and hold a valid 2025 business licence issued by the City of Port Moody. The fee for a 10-foot by 10-foot vendor space is $55 plus tax. The space includes one table and two chairs. Additional fees will apply if you request add-ons such as electricity, a tent, or an extra table. Please visit portmoody.ca/carfreeday for more information and to submit a vendor application form online.
Car-free days take place across the country and aim to inspire people to get out of their cars, interact with each other, and explore alternative modes of transportation. The City of Port Moody would like to thank our 2025 Car-Free Day partner, TransLink.
Please note that on August 17, 2025, St. Johns Street, between Douglas and Moody streets, will be closed to all vehicle traffic from 6am to 10pm. Commuters and residents living in the area will be directed to use alternative routes such as Clarke Street.
