Help us create a parkland strategy – join us at an open house and/or fill out our online survey

The City of Port Moody is developing a parkland strategy to guide long-term planning for parkland. What types of parks and open spaces do you want to see in Port Moody? How should we allocate municipal funding for parkland? We want to hear your voice. Join us in person at our Parkland Strategy Open House on April 19 and visit our online public engagement hub, Engage Port Moody, to fill out a community survey by May 7, 2023.

Over the next 30 years, the parkland strategy will provide a framework for decision-making and prioritization of investment in existing and new parkland such as parks, greenways, natural areas, and public open spaces. It will include priorities and actions to help us ensure that parkland is distributed across the city, with equal access for all to diverse spaces and amenities. Your input will inform the development of a draft parkland strategy for Council’s consideration.

Here's how you can get involved:

Parkland Strategy Open House (in-person engagement opportunity)
Date: Wednesday, April 19, 2023
Time: 5pm to 8pm
Location: Civic Centre Galleria (100 Newport Drive)

View information boards and a map of Port Moody’s parks system, ask questions, and share your thoughts with the City staff and consultants who will be developing the draft strategy for Council’s consideration. Topics to consider will include:

  • a community vision for the future of Port Moody’s parks system;
  • park and trail connectivity;
  • park amenities and programming; and
  • parkland types and locations.
