Help bring holiday cheer to families in need by participating in our drive-thru toy drive Nov. 28
The City of Port Moody, Port Moody Fire Rescue, and Port Moody Police are hosting a physically-distanced drive-thru toy drive at Rocky Point Park (2800 Murray Street) on Saturday, November 28, 2020 from 5:30pm to 8:30pm. Please join us for this festive drive-thru event, which is a reimagining of our annual Holiday Cheer at the Pier celebration. We invite you to help local families in need and enjoy the sights and sounds of the season in a safe way with COVID-19 protocols in place.
Holiday Cheer at the Pier Drive-Thru Toy Drive
Date: Saturday, November 28, 2020
Time: 5:30pm to 8:30pm
Location: Rocky Point Park (2800 Murray Street)
Hop in your car and bring a new, unwrapped toy with you. As you drive slowly toward the toy drop-off zone, you’ll experience the illuminated pier, Frosty and Rudolph, dancing elves, a giant polar bear, and a jolly wave from Santa. Please note you will be required to stay in your vehicle until it’s time to drop-off your toy.
Donations will be collected with zero contact – simply pop your trunk and ask event staff to remove the toy from the back of your vehicle or leave the toy on one of the covered tables in the toy drop-off zone. If you exit your vehicle to drop off a toy, we kindly ask that you wear a face mask and return to your vehicle right away to leave space for others.
All toys collected will go to SHARE Family and Community Services. Non-perishable food items will also be accepted.
For your safety and the safety of event staff and other participants, please:
- remain in your vehicle and turn off your engine while waiting in line;
- carefully follow directions from event staff and drive with caution through the event area;
- wear a face mask if you exit your vehicle in the toy drop-off zone; and
- do not gather on site after you have dropped off your toy.
Check portmoody.ca/toydrive for the latest information on this event before you attend. Thank you for helping local families in need this holiday season and for doing your part to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
If you can’t make it to the drive-thru toy drive on November 28 but would like to participate, please drop off a toy at the Inlet Centre Fire Hall (150 Newport Drive) or the Public Safety Building (3051 St. Johns Street) during business hours before December 15, 2020.
