Give your feedback on design concepts for Rocky Point and Old Orchard parks master plans
We’re drafting a comprehensive update to the existing Rocky Point Park Master Plan and developing a new master plan to guide upgrades for Old Orchard Park. As part of Phase 2 public engagement, we’re seeking your feedback on draft design concepts and potential park improvements. There are a few ways to get involved: join us for an online information session via Zoom on October 25 or an in-person open house on October 26, 2023. And visit Engage Port Moody, our online public engagement hub, to complete our community surveys! Your participation will help us ensure these unique outdoor spaces can continue to support our community into the future.
During Phase 1 engagement in July and August 2022, we asked participants how they use Rocky Point and Old Orchard parks today, and what they want the parks to be like in the future. We used that feedback to develop draft design concepts and proposed actions. In Phase 2, underway now, we’re asking for feedback on the draft design concepts: three for Rocky Point Park, and one for Old Orchard Park. We’re also asking participants to share their thoughts on how we should prioritize potential improvements, as we won’t be able to achieve everything. Your input will inform the refinement of draft master plans which will be shared with Council in late 2023 or early 2024. The public will then have a chance to review the draft master plans, ask questions, and offer comments during Phase 3 engagement.
We want to hear from you! Here's how you can get involved in Phase 2:
1. Information session – October 25 (online engagement opportunity)
Watch a presentation to learn about the draft design concepts and potential improvements for Rocky Point and Old Orchard parks. There will be an opportunity after the presentation to submit questions or comments in writing.

If you prefer to fill out the survey(s) on paper, you can request a copy at City Hall (100 Newport Drive) during regular business hours (8:30am-5pm Mondays through Fridays), or at the October 26 open house event. Your paper survey(s) must be returned to City Hall by 5pm on November 10.
A park master plan is a framework for future planning and decision-making around park facilities, trails, and open spaces. Both master plans, when finished, will guide Council and City staff over the next 10 years. As the Metro Vancouver region’s population grows, Rocky Point and Old Orchard parks face intensifying usage pressures which can lead to heightened stress on aging infrastructure and the natural environment. An updated assessment of park spaces and plans for strategic renewal will help us improve community well-being, social equity, and the resiliency of the parks’ natural habitats.
We value your input as we develop the Rocky Point and Old Orchard parks master plans. Register to participate today at Engage Port Moody.
