Former Port Moody Councillor Rob Fenger has passed away

Port Moody Councillor Rob Feng
"It is with a heavy heart that I lower the City’s flags, as we announce the passing of former Councillor Rob Fenger who served Port Moody from 1996-1999," said Mayor Rob Vagramov after being briefed on the news. “My condolences go out to his family, friends, and local government colleagues, including one of our current Council members who had the pleasure of working with Councillor Fenger back in the 1990s.”

“I am sad to hear of Councillor Fenger's passing,” said Councillor Meghan Lahti. "We served together during my first term on Council, from 1996-1999. He was a friend of mine and we ran together to save the wetlands (now known as Bert Flynn Park), from development. While on council he was supportive of rescinding the development plans for what was known as Neighbourhoods 3 and 4, and he helped in the park dedication. While on council he supported many initiatives and was an ardent supporter of our staff. In his free time he was a computer whiz, and he loved to play soccer and ride his motorcycle.”

Port Moody’s flags will be flown at half-mast over the weekend in memory of Councillor Rob Fenger.
