City seeks feedback on St. George Street temporary slow zones from area residents
What do you think about the temporary slow zones installed to reduce traffic volume and speed on St. George Street? If you live in the area, we want to hear from you! Visit engage.portmoody.ca/slowzone to fill out an online survey today.
In spring 2021, the City of Port Moody installed temporary traffic calming measures on St. George Street, between Albert Street and Buller Street, and on Hope Street at Douglas Street. As approved by Council to support outdoor activity during the COVID-19 pandemic, these slow zones were designed to reduce traffic volume and speed while prioritizing walking, cycling, and other active or neighbourhood uses. The pilot phase of the project is concluding soon and the barricades will be removed in November 2021 to accommodate winter road operations.
We invite area residents to take our survey today. Visit engage.portmoody/slowzone to learn more about the project and complete the online survey. Paper forms are available at City Hall (100 Newport Drive). All surveys must be submitted by November 19, 2021. Your input will help inform any future recommendations for St. George Street traffic calming measures.
