City of Port Moody will no longer use social media platform X

If you follow the City of Port Moody on X (formerly Twitter), please note that as of January 14, 2026, we no longer monitor or post City information to that account, except in cases of emergency communications. You can continue to find City of Port Moody information, including public notices, on social media via the City’s Facebook page and on our website at portmoody.ca.

City Council made the decision to stop using X, for all purposes other than emergency communications, at the January 13, 2026 Regular Meeting of Council. Visit portmoody.ca/councilcalendar to watch a video recording of the discussion of agenda item 11.5 (which begins at approximately one hour, 53 minutes into the meeting).

The City is continuously considering how we can adapt to the evolving nature of social media and the platforms that best enable us to share information with as many residents as possible and stay connected with our partner organizations. Any decisions about using specific social media platforms or emergency notification systems will be shared with the public via our website at portmoody.ca and the City’s Facebook page.
