City of Port Moody to present 54-40 as Canada Day headliner at Golden Spike Days Festival

The City of Port Moody and the Golden Spike Days Society are pleased to announce Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductees 54-40 will be the headline performer for Canada Day celebrations at the Golden Spike Days Festival in Rocky Point Park.

On Friday, July 1, 2022, the City of Port Moody presents 54-40 for a set of great music starting at 8:30pm at the Golden Spike Days Festival in Rocky Point Park (2800-block Murray Street). Whether they’re playing old favourites like “I Go Blind” and “Ocean Pearl” or newer songs like “Sucker for Your Love” or “’Embassy Supreme,” 54-40 is sure to entertain you. 54-40 is known for putting on an extraordinary show that bridges the gaps between generations through a shared love of music, appealing to people who have followed the band from their humble beginnings in east Vancouver as well as new young fans who have discovered their truly original style. Join us on Canada Day for this exciting concert in the park!

54-40 have been recording and performing for more than 40 years, leaving their mark on the Canadian cultural landscape. Led by chief songwriter Neil Osborne, 54-40 have carved out a legacy of gold and platinum albums and an outstanding reputation for their live performances. Forty years, thousands of performances, and 20+ releases – the secret to the band's longevity is their ability to redefine and reinvent themselves. To experience 54-40 in concert is to experience how their songs have touched and continue to touch people's lives. 

In recent years, the band has received recognition from the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, the Independent Music Awards (the Indies) Hall of Fame, the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame, and the Western Canadian Music Awards Hall of Fame. 54-40 is Neil Osborne (vocals/guitar), Brad Merritt (bass), Matt Johnson (drums), and Dave Genn (guitars/keys/backing vocals) with David “Oz” Osborne (organ/backing vocals).
