City Manager to retire in February 2024
City Manager Tim Savoie, who has been in the role since 2016, is retiring after 21 years of service to the Port Moody community. Mr. Savoie’s retirement will be effective in February 2024. Mr. Savoie has held various leadership positions in his combined 29 years of public service, including here at the City of Port Moody as General Manager of Development Services and then, after a break to join TransLink, as City Manager.
“On behalf of Port Moody City Council, I would like to thank Mr. Savoie for his many years of service, his unflagging commitment to the community, and his skilled leadership,” said Mayor Meghan Lahti. “He has guided Port Moody through many changes with optimism and confidence, and his experience and expertise in strategic planning and land use planning, as well as the daily management of administrative operations, have made him a true asset to both the organization and the community. We wish Mr. Savoie all the best as he moves on to new adventures.”
Mr. Savoie notified Council of his decision to retire on October 10 and shared the news with City staff on October 11, 2023. When the City has found a qualified successor to fill the role of city manager, we will share details with the community.
