Celebrate Heritage Day in Port Moody with live music, vintage vehicles, and walking tours
The City of Port Moody invites residents and visitors to celebrate Heritage Day on Saturday, February 17, 2018, with family-friendly activities at the Civic Centre and walking tours along historic Clarke Street.
What: Heritage Day in Port Moody
When: Saturday, February 17, 2018 from 11am to 3pm
Where: Civic Centre (100 Newport Drive), Port Moody Station Museum (2734 Murray Street), and Clarke Street
Cost: All activities are free!
Bring the whole family down to the Civic Centre to experience a variety of free activities and entertainment. Enjoy performances by The Squares Barbershop Quartet, Golden Spike Can Can Dancers, Beauty Shop Dolls, Port Moody Secondary School students, and children’s entertainer The Ta-Daa Lady. Play old-fashioned games and get your photo taken with vintage props in a black-and-white photo booth. When it’s time for a snack, enjoy complimentary popcorn or buy some “Hugs” (gourmet mini donuts) from the Mollie’s Minis food truck.
Check out vintage vehicles, including a 1957 bus (in service in Victoria and Abbotsford until 1990), which has been turned into a transit museum. Hop on a shuttle bus at the Civic Centre, and hop off at one or both stops: the Port Moody Station Museum; and Clarke Street, where hourly walking tours will take place starting at 11:30am.
